Parkinson's

Parkinson's disease is a neurodegenerative disorder causing progressive damage to the brain. Symptoms include tremors, stiffness, slowed movement, balance issues, and cognitive decline. Treatment options include medication, therapy, and lifestyle changes to manage symptoms and slow disease progression.

Paralysis

Paralysis is a condition characterized by the loss of muscle function and sensation in a part of the body. It can be partial or complete, temporary or permanent, and can affect any area, including the face, arm, leg, or entire body.

Stroke

A stroke occurs when blood flow to the brain is interrupted, causing brain cell damage. Symptoms include sudden weakness, numbness, confusion, vision changes, and difficulty speaking or walking. Prompt medical treatment is crucial to minimize damage and improve outcomes.

Spinal cord injury (SCI)

A spinal cord injury (SCI) damages the spinal cord, disrupting brain-body communication. Symptoms include loss of sensation, muscle weakness, paralysis, and bladder/bowel control issues. Severity varies depending on injury level and location, requiring individualized treatment and rehabilitation.

Ataxia

Ataxia is a neurological disorder causing loss of coordination, balance, and muscle control. Symptoms include unsteady gait, tremors, slurred speech, and difficulty with fine motor tasks. Ataxia can be inherited or acquired due to injury, infection, or other medical conditions.

Bells palsy

Bell's palsy is a temporary nerve disorder that causes weakness or paralysis of facial muscles, leading to drooping eyelids, uneven smile, and difficulty speaking. It's often caused by viral infections and usually resolves on its own within weeks or months.

Muscular dystrophy

Muscular dystrophy (MD) is a group of genetic disorders that progressively weaken and degenerate muscles, leading to muscle wasting, loss of mobility, and respiratory problems. Symptoms vary depending on the type of MD, but most forms are incurable and debilitating.

Cerebral palsy

Cerebral palsy (CP) is a neurological disorder that affects movement, muscle tone, and coordination. Caused by brain damage before or at birth, CP symptoms vary and may include muscle stiffness, seizures, and difficulty with speech, walking, and balance.

Motor neurone disease

Motor Neurone Disease (MND) is a progressive neurological disorder that affects nerve cells controlling voluntary muscle movement. Symptoms include muscle weakness, wasting, and paralysis, leading to loss of speech, mobility, and eventually, respiratory failure. Also known as Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS).

Balance problem

A balance problem, also known as disequilibrium, is a feeling of instability or dizziness that makes it difficult to walk, stand, or maintain posture. Causes include inner ear issues, neurological disorders, medication, or sensory conflicts, leading to increased risk of falls and injuries.
